Thoughts from Proverbs
Proverbs 19:3 A man’s own folly ruins his life, yet his heart rages against the Lord. The greatest of all faults is to be conscious of none.
Proverbs 15:28 The heart of the righteous weights its answers, but the mouth of the wicked gushes evil. People with tact have less to retract.
Proverbs21:5 The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty. It has been my observation that most people get ahead during the time that others waste.
Proverbs 17:14 Starting a quarrel is like breaching a dam; so drop the matter before a dispute breaks out. It isn’t hard to make a mountain out of a molehill. Just add a little dirt.
Proverbs 18:2 A fool finds no pleasure in understanding but delights in airing his own opinions. A man wrapped up in himself makes a very small package.
At times we can see ourselves in each of these Proverbs and all too often our lives can be wrapped in being about just ourselves. Thank and praise God that he has forgiven us though our Lord Jesus Christ.

Graduation and Baptism
This message came last week from John Nail, principal at St. Paul’s, Sedalia:
During our graduation on Saturday night (5:30) we will be baptizing Ellen Chappel, one of our 8th grader’s mother. Her husband Steve is an A-10 pilot (Lt. Col) and currently on tour in Afghanistan. Her eighth grade son, Stephen, has been telling her about his confirmation lessons each week and she has become curious enough to ask pastor if she could be baptized. Stephen has been at St. Paul’s since PK-4 and has been an excellent student. His sister Casey has also been in our school since PK and will be entering the seventh grade next year. Saturday night will be very special as mother and son both graduate. Stephen from eighth grade and Ellen from this world into the everlasting kingdom of Christ!
God is certainly at work in our Lutheran Schools.
Calls Extended (Repeat)
Several schools and early childhood centers are in the process of calling administrators and teachers. Please notify the District as Calls are extended so that an accurate record can be maintained. When calls/contacts are accepted, also contact the District office so that the vacancy list on the district webpage and the Lutheran School Portal is kept current.
Installation of Commissioned Teachers
It is very important that the District Office be contacted to request authorization for installation of teachers before an installation date is published. The necessary transfer and/or other forms need to be on file before an installation can be performed. In the case of new graduates or colloquy teachers, it can take one or two months from the time Call documents are sent to the District Office to be completed.
Included in the process is the acceptance of the Call, the individual officially sending notifications to the university, district, and LCMS Rosters and Statistics, along with sending the application for inclusion on the roster to the district, verification from the university that all the coursework has been completed, and the Council of Presidents granting approval for placement.
