Dr. Martin F. Luebke

 

Dr. Martin F. Luebke passed away on January 26, 2008, at the age of 90.

 

Dr. Luebke graduated from Concordia Teachers College in River Forest, Illinois, in 1938.  His ministry included teacher and principal at Immanuel Lutheran School in Grand Rapids, Michigan; Professor at Concordia Seminary, Springfield, Illinois; and Dean of Admission and Records at Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana; and Curator at Saxon Lutheran Memorial, Frohna, Missouri.  He was an assistant to the pastor at Chapel of the Cross Lutheran Church, St. Louis, Missouri.

 

He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy Luebke.  He is survived by his children Judy (Bill) Kooi and Charles (Betty) Luebke, and grandchildren Zachary and Jessica Luebke.

 

Funeral Services were held Wednesday, January 30, at Chapel of the Cross Lutheran Church, St. Louis.  His entombment was at Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Eldor G. Luepke

Luepke, Eldor G. fell asleep in Jesus on Thursday, February 28, 2008 at age 93. He was the beloved husband of the late Marie V. Luepke (nee Larsen) and the beloved father of Joyce (Ralph Larson) Soeldner, Carol Jean (Robert) Jessen and James (Janet) Luepke. Eldor was the dear brother of Martin Luepke, Helen Iben and the late Ruth Rupp and Herbert Luepke. He was also grandfather of 9, greatgrandfather of 11, and dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and close friend to many.

Eldor was principal for 41 years at Salem Lutheran School. He was lay assistant to the Pastor, organist and choir director at Salem Lutheran Church. Eldor was Chaplain for the Affton Chamber of Commerce and a well known supporter of many community activities in the Affton area. Memorials to the Salem Lutheran Church Building Fund are appreciated.
