    CONSECRATED STEWARDS

The Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF) through its Capital Funding Services ministry has developed this Lutheran adaptation of the popular Herb Miller "New Consecration Sunday" approach.  This adaptation was done with permission and encouragement from Herb Miller and includes LCMS-doctrinally approved Bible studies and sermons.  Nearly 200 Guest Leaders are now available to lead the emphasis in your congregation.  Contact your District Office for more information.  If you are not sure which of the 35 districts your congregation is in, go to www.lcms.org and clicking on "Directories" and scroll down to "Districts."  There is a map of the U.S. showing the boundaries of the districts.

Congregations that have used the "Consecrated Stewards" have seen increases in estimated envelope giving of from 15 to 35% and even more in some cases.  I think all our congregations would like to experience financial blessings like that!

    Highlights of "Consecrated Stewards" include:

    • Ties the commitment process to the Sunday morning act of worship
    • Reaches the maximum number of people in the most spiritual setting with minimal organization
    • Requires four weeks of preparation and four weeks of emphasis
    • Requires a working committee of eight
    • Usually requires only four committee meetings plus attention to ongoing stewardship
    • Does not have members asking other members one-on-one for financial commitments
    • Can be used any time during the year

    "Consecrated Stewards" provides the following:

    • Solid Lutheran Bible study materials
    • Sermon outlines
    • Guidance for stewardship witness talks
    • A process to celebrate congregation ministries
    • Publicity and communication aids
    • An optional workshop for leaders
    • An LCEF trained and certified Guest Leader

You can go to www.lcef.org and click on "Services" and then on "Capital Funding Services" to find information, including a video introduction, about "Consecrated Stewards."
