The August edition of The Voice centers on holistic wellness in the Christian life, drawing from a timely reflection by President Rev. Dr. R. Lee Hagan, written just prior to his recent health challenge. Hagan explores the biblical view of health as care for body, soul, and spirit—highlighting the importance of the "Wellness Wheel" and the need for churches to support all areas of well-being. This issue also features the inspiring story of Rev. Will Hanke, whose path to ministry is part of the Missouri District’s Tomorrow’s Teachers & Preachers campaign, now entering its fifth year of encouraging church work vocations. We celebrate the connections made at the LCMS Youth Gathering in New Orleans, where nearly 500 Missouri District youth and leaders gathered in the Bayou for a joyful day of fellowship and faith. Additional highlights include a recap of the recent merger between Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wentzville and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in New Melle—now united as “One Ministry on Two Campuses”—and an overview of LCEF’s newly released 2026–28 Strategic Plan. This month also includes practical tools for strengthening family ministry and a save-the-date for SHINE! 2026.
