Rev. Rudolf Charles Schaser

November 7,1939  – June 7, 2024

Pastor Rudy Schaser, born to Rudolf and LaVerne, grew up in Lansing, Illinois. He was raised with his older brother Robert (“Bobby”), two younger sisters (Nancy and Cheryl), and nephews (Bobby Richard and Jim).

Pastor Schaser was married to his cherished wife Dorothy (nee Kullmann) for 59 years with children Michael Lee (Laureen) Schaser, Melissa Anne (Jeff) Huse, and Cynthia Marie (Jeff) Edes.  Pastor Schaser met Dorothy during his vicarage in Kansas City, Missouri.  Soon after the wedding, he served as a Lutheran missionary for 12 years in the Philippines.  Their three children were born and raised on rice and mango.

In 1978, the family moved back to America where Pastor Schaser served as a pastor in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and later in New Orleans, Louisiana.  In 1993, he became the Manager of International Volunteer Services for Lutheran Hour Ministries in St. Louis, Missouri.  Upon retirement, Pastor Schaser, alongside his wife, co-founded With God’s Little Ones, a non-profit humanitarian organization that, for 20 years, served “the overworked, undervalued, vulnerable and overlooked” in 12 different countries. Pastor Schaser Rudy held two Master’s Degrees, and many books.

Private services were held June 15th, 2024.

Well done, good and faithful servant!
