Thank you for serving as a delegate for the convention. This is a valuable service to the district and church. Please review the following information about the 2019 Synod Convention. The theme for this event is “Joyfully Lutheran.”

There is valet parking only, the hotel has given our delegates staying at the hotel a highly discounted rate of $10 a night

Travel, Expenses and Reimbursement
As a delegate, you are responsible for making your own travel arrangements to and from Tampa.
The Missouri District will provide a one-time reimbursement check for all travel and food expenses in the amount of $810.00 ($510 for travel and $300 for meals).
Please note: this amount reflects no deductions, such as requesting a single room, spouse meals or other circumstances. Individual amounts will vary depending on the requests you have made for your time at the convention.
Checks for travel costs will be mailed out the first week of July.

Consider seeking out the perspectives and opinions of others in your circuit. However, you are voting as yourself, not on behalf of anyone else. Please learn about the people and resolutions and vote according to your conscience.

Dress Code
Dress between business and business casual attire is appropriate for the convention. Please remember to bring clothes appropriate for the opening worship service.
We suggest dressing in layers, accounting for the hot climate of Tampa, as well as the potential for a chilly convention center.
Election of the President
The election of the Synod President happens before the convention in late June and the results of the election will be announced prior to the convention as well.
