Rev. Donald Hoeferkamp was called home to Jesus on Thursday, March 28, 2019. He is survived by his sons: Philip, Michael, Douglas and Gary. Please keep them and the rest of Rev. Hoeferkamp’s loved ones in your prayers.

Rev. Hoeferkamp was ordained in the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) in 1959. He then served at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Delaware, IA. He served as Editor for the LCMS BPS from 1960-92 and as Curriculum Developer for Concordia Publishing House from 1992-98. After his retirement in 1998, Rev. Hoeferkamp continued his service to the community and his church by volunteering and continuing to write for a devotional series.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Kutis Funeral Home, 10151 Gravois Rd, Affton, MO 63123. An additional visitation will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2019 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church and School at 8343 Gravois Rd, Affton, MO 63123, with the funeral service and interment immediately following.

Visiting clergy are invited to vest with red stoles, process and sit as a group, and form an honor guard during the recession. Pastors should meet downstairs in the fellowship hall at Salem prior to the service for instructions.
