William Unzicker III, 72, was called home to glory Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at his residence in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

He was born August 19, 1946 in Herrin, Illinois to William and Lelle (Baker) Unzicker.

Bill was teacher and athletic director at Lutheran School Association in Decatur, Illinois (1983-95) and principal at Redeemer Lutheran School in Stuart, Florida (1995-98), Trinity Lutheran School in Cape Girardeau, Missouri (1998-2002), and at Immanuel Lutheran School in Perryville, Missouri (2002-2017).   He served the Missouri District as National Lutheran School Association Commissioner for over 15 years.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Unzicker of Cape Girardeau, two sons, William (Abigail) Unzicker IV of Valparaiso, Indiana and Robert Unzicker of Dallas, Texas; three grandchildren, Gabrielle, Wesley and Elliott Unzicker.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister: Jane Unzicker Boyd.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Ford & Young Chapel, 119 S. West Street, Perryville.

Memorial Service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 453 N. West Street, Perryville with Rev. Matthew Marks and Rev. Joseph Schlie officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Tuition Assistant Fund.
