Rev. Gregory K. Smith

February 8, 1949 – October 14, 2024

Faithful servant of the Lord, Rev. Greg Smith, went home to be with Jesus on October 14, 2024. He was born in Decatur, IL on February 8, 1949, to John William “Bill” and Lela Smith.

He was a devoted husband, father, Boppa. uncle and Godfather. He served as Pastor of Christ Memorial Lutheran Church from 1977-2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John Michael and Timothy, and dearly loved sister Marta. He is survived by Alayne, his wife of almost 47 years, son Philip, daughter Mindy, grandson Mason and sister Lesley (David) Seay, “baby sister” Tricia (Mark) Mischel, and a host of relatives, friends, colleagues and all those he served as a pastor and shepherd.
