Rev. William Roger Voelker

Rev. William Roger Voelker (pastor emeritus) was the son of William C. Voelker and Nya T. Voelker.  He was born October 5, 1944 and was baptized into the Christian faith October 15, 1944 at St. John Lutheran Church, Palmer, Kansas.  He was confirmed in the Christian faith March 30, 1958 at St. John Lutheran Church, Palmer, Kansas.

He married Judith I. Westermann June 7, 1969 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Bremen, Kansas.  To this union were born three children, William (Virginia), Marshall, Missouri; Julie (Robert) Voelker-Morris, Eugene, Oregon; Leah (Jay) Hall, Omaha, Nebraska.  There are five grandsons and one granddaughter.

Rev. Voelker received his Master of Divinity from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis in 1970.  He served congregations at Zion-St. John in Beemer, NE; St. John in Keystone, IA; and Peace in Grand Island, NE before becoming pastor emeritus in 2007.

He died on September 8, 2021 in St. Joseph, Missouri.  He is resting in the Lord Jesus Christ, awaiting His return on the last day.

Memorials may be given to Orphan Grain Train or Lutheran Hour Ministries.
