Rev. Blake Gilbert Wolf

October 31, 1950 - February 13, 2024

 

Born Oct. 31, 1950, Rev. Wolf was blessed with an amazing, Christ loving spouse, Deb (Deborah Ruth Samuel), children, and grandchildren.

A 1977 graduate of Concordia Seminary, Rev. Wolf served for 40 years as both a pastor and Christian fundraiser.

From 1974-1984 he was a manager, then Director of Development, for the International Lutheran Laymen’s League (Lutheran Hour Ministries.) For 25 years he was President of Blake Wolf Associates serving many ministries helping them gain financial support. Those ministries included LCMS World Relief, LCMS World Mission, the Joint Seminary Fund, and many others.

At the same time, Rev. Wolf was active in parish ministry serving as a sole pastor at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Oakville and part time assistant at St. John’s Lutheran Church in St. Louis and Christ Memorial Lutheran Church in Sunset Hills.

Before retiring in 2017, Rev. Wolf served for 10 years as Director of the Sustaining Fund at Concordia Seminary.

Rev. Wolf and his wife, Deb, shared a love of Psalm 73:26 “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”

A private graveside service will take place on Tuesday, February 20 in Lee’s Summit.
