Reverend Dale Trimberger

The Reverend Dale H. Trimberger, of rural Chrisman, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family with assistance from Haven Hospice. His death came after a 4 month struggle with pancreatic cancer.

Rev. Trimberger was born to Hugo and Minnie (Buddinger) Trimberger on October 15, 1940, in Granton, Wisconsin. He attended Zion Lutheran Grade School and Granton Public High School, graduating in 1958. He enrolled at Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota and transferred to Concordia Senior College in Ft. Wayne, Indiana receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1962.

In that same year, 1962, he enrolled at Concordia Theological Seminary in Springfield, Illinois. He graduated from the Seminary in 1966 receiving a Master of Divinity after serving a one-year internship in the inner city of Rochester, New York.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Karen Jo née Hack. They were married on September 22nd, 1962, at Zion Lutheran Church in Granton, WI by Rev. L. Schreiber. The couple was blessed with two children. Their son, Joel (Kimberly) Trimberger resides in Fort Mill, South Carolina and their daughter Ann (Mel) Titus resides in rural Chrisman, IL who survives him. He also is survived by one sister, Elaine Trimberger, of Kaukauna, Wisconsin.

Rev. Trimberger had varied and exciting ministries in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod including the following: instructor in theology at Concordia University in Ann Arbor, Michigan; parish pastor at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Poy Sippi, Wisconsin; hospital chaplain at both St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, Wisconsin and Lutheran Medical Center in St. Louis, MO; director of Southeast Missouri Lutheran Family and Children’s Services in Cape Girardeau, Missouri; and Director of Pastoral Care at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Columbus, Indiana.

During their retirement years, Rev. and Mrs. Trimberger had lived in Lake Ozark, MO, in Paris, IL, in Fort Mill, SC and in Chrisman, IL. They were able to live in close proximity to their children for the most part and enjoyed those experiences.

The visitation for Rev. Trimberger will be Sunday evening, October 24, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Krabel Funeral Home in Chrisman, IL. The service of celebration of life will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 25, 2021 at the Funeral Home. The service will be a private family service by invitation only. Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church and School of Danville, IL or to Lutheran Indian Ministries of Brookfield, WI.
